Achrocordons (Skin Tags)

Skin tags are small growths that typically are found in areas of friction where clothing often rubs, such as neck, chest, underarms, back, and groin, but can also be found under the lower eyelids. They can be bothersome as they can catch on clothing or jewelry, and this trauma can sometimes cause the area to bleed and make it open to infections. These can be easily and safely removed in the office under local anesthesia.

Techniques used:

Shave Excision: the skin tag is removed by surgically cutting it off at the level of the skin, leaving as imperceptible a scar as possible.

Electrodessication: the skin tag is burned off using heat

Cryosurgery: the skin tag is frozen off using a probe containing liquid nitrogen.
