Sebaceous Hyperplasia

Sebaceous hyperplasia are very common skin-colored to yellowish bumps that occur on the face, and sometimes on the upper body. They often have a bumpy “lobulated” appearance with a central dell.

These lesions can be removed or diminished in appearance by the following techniques:

Shave excision: the sebaceous hyperplasia is carefully removed using shave technique so that it becomes flush with the surrounding skin

Electrodessication: light use of heat is used for careful destruction of the sebaceous hyperplasia

Cryotherapy: the sebaceous hyperplasia are frozen off using a probe containing liquid nitrogen
