Seborrheic Keratosis

Seborrheic Keratoses are very common benign skin lesions that often start to occur during the third or fourth decade of life. They can develop almost anywhere on the skin and often have a “waxy” or “stuck on” appearance. They can be affectionately referred to as “wisdom spots” as more of them tend to occur with time and maturity. They have a large variation in color and can be anywhere from skin colored to dark brown or black.

Techniques used:

Cryosurgery: the seborrheic keratosis is frozen off using a probe containing liquid nitrogen.

Electrodessication: the seborrheic keratosis is carefully destroyed using precise electric current causing heat only on the very surface of the skin.

Surgical Excision: the seborrheic keratosis is neatly surgically removed and the skin is sutured back together
