PRP For Dark Eye Circles in Vancouver
Refresh your eyes with Platelet Rich Plasma and harness your body’s natural regenerative powers!
PRP to your under eyes (sometimes known as tear-troughs) can lead to a gradual rejuvenation of the dark circles. With beautiful, natural results, PRP restores lost volume, improves texture and stimulates growth factors in the area to create a wonderfully brightened and plump result. PRP helps to create entirely new blood vessels that bring fresh oxygen and nutrients to combat pigmentation problems and enhances your melanin production giving you a healthy glow.
Plasma is a part of your blood that is rich in platelets and has special proteins that both help the blood to clot and, significantly are vital for cell growth and healing. Platelets release small molecules which regulate tissue healing and stimulates the production of collagen. When injected into the tear-troughs it stimulates the formation of collagen, fibroblasts and increases cell regeneration, which all help to minimize the appearance of those dark circles under your eyes.
Whether you are a younger person with genetic hollowing of your undereye area, or you’re older and experiencing volume loss, PRP may be the answer for you. While some patients can achieve wonderful results with dermal fillers to the tear-troughs, not everyone is a good candidate, or wants to opt for this. PRP is an excellent alternative as it harnesses your body’s own natural regenerative power.
With the high safety-profile of PRP it’s not surprising that so many of our patients are enjoying the many benefits of this innovative treatment.
Best results can be seen with 3-4 treatments, spaced 1-2 months apart.
You can expect to see your skin visibly lighter and brighter, pore size minimized, texture improved reduced fine lines and wrinkles, plumping of the skin and reduced darkness within 10-12 days. However, it can take up to 4 months after your 3rd treatment before you see the full benefits.
You can expect to be here for 45-75 minutes.
We use topical numbing cream applied to your face before your treatment. You may feel some pressure, but it shouldn’t be painful.
The great news is the downtime is very minimal. Most people return to their normal activity immediately. Some people do experience some redness lasting for a few hours and up to 1 day, but this is rare. In addition, there is a risk of some bruising, but this is very low risk.
