Sun exposure, smoking, fluctuations in weight and genetic factors can also contribute to the skin being less elastic exacerbating this problem. While exercise can strengthen and tone the muscles of the upper arm, it can do little to solve the problem of loose skin.
A brachioplasty, or arm lift, is a procedure that can re-shape the upper arm by removing excess fat and skin resulting in more defined contours and a youthful appearance to your arms. It often requires a combination of excision (surgical removal) of the fatty tissue and skin as well as liposuction to the area.

Dr. Ashley Tregaskiss is a plastic surgeon based in Vancouver and Langley, British Columbia who has practiced medicine in the UK, Australia and Canada for over 15 years. He works in both the private sector with a focus on breast, body and facial aesthetic surgeries as well as in the public sector. His public/MSP work is varied, with a focus on cancer reconstruction and trauma. He has completed fellowship training in aesthetic surgery, breast reconstruction, craniofacial trauma and head & neck reconstruction.
